The Visionary

Mr. Saibabu Appalaneni was born in a small village in India to a family of farmers. He earned his M.S. in Production Engineering in 1992 from an Indian university and began his career as a faculty member, teaching engineering students until 1995. From 1995 to 1997, he served as a scientist at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) before migrating to the USA in 1997, where he became a citizen and settled in Orange County, NY.

Between 1997 and 2005, Mr. Appalaneni worked as a computer programmer for several multinational companies. In 2003, he and his brother ventured into the independent retail pharmacy business. Today, the Appalaneni brothers own over 50 pharmacies across multiple U.S. states, with ambitious global expansion plans. In the 2021 fiscal year, their group achieved revenues exceeding $350 million.

The Appalaneni Group has since diversified into multiple sectors, including crude oil exploration in Kentucky. In 2018, they entered the hospitality industry by acquiring prime land in Coorg, South India—often called the “Scotland of India.” Their flagship project, an ITC Welcome 5-star hotel, is set to become an iconic landmark, with plans to expand the brand to major hill stations across India.
